About Tahiera Monique Brown
Tahiera Monique Brown is the President and CEO of Darkness To Light Films, a Birmingham based Film and Television Production Company. Ms. Brown is also author, and a professional speaker. Her book, Annihilator of Innocence, chronicles a horrific ordeal where Brown, along with her children, was held hostage for two years by a man who, unbeknownst to her, had been stalking her for some time. The choice she made to save her children’s lives put her in a coma. When she recovered, she had amnesia, which she still suffers to this day.

During the beginning of her career, Tahiera was a television show and radio show host. She served as a Casting Director in Atlanta, Georgia for over 15 years. She was recognized by Filmmakers of Color in Atlanta, Georgia as the top Casting Director among her peers.
For much of the time that Brown has lived in Birmingham, she has been a true servant in the community. She is an advocate for domestic violence awareness and for abused children. Ms. Brown currently serves as the facilitator of the Birmingham Chapter of Survivors Overcoming Abusive Relationships (S.O.A.R.). She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Prescott House, a child advocacy organization that provides services to child victims of physical and sexual abuse, severely neglected children and children who have witnessed a violent crime. She is an active member of the Jefferson County Coordinated Community Response (CCR) against Domestic Violence organization, and an avid supporter of the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV) and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV).
